Gaetano DI PASQUALE: Researcher of Applied Botany at the University Federico II –Napoli, Italy. He has been mainly occupied with historical and successive vegetation processes in the Mediterranean and tropical (Andes) environment with different time and space scales, which aim to assess the effect of the climate and the human impact on the vegetation cover during recent Holocene.

During his academic career he has participated in various projects of archaeobotanical interest and he has also published a considerable number of publications mostly related to the fields of anthracology, vegetation dynamics and dendrochronology dating. His role in the project is considered of fundamental importance due to the fact that he has already great experience in the field of anthracology, dendrochronology in regards to the environmental studies of the project and the reconstruction of the environment.
